Homes4Good properties are rented at 30% of the household’s total income, which rate may be below a full market rent. This level of rent ensures that families have enough to live on after paying their housing costs. The advantage of setting rents this way is that as the family’s income increases, the rent can increase too, up to market rates. Tenants are also eligible for Commonwealth Rent Assistance, increasing the return to landlords. The tenants who will be placed in your property will be carefully selected to be suitable for your property, chosen from a waiting list that is created with upper income limit criteria to make sure that families who really need a helping hand can find housing.
Our first Homes4Good partner is Cornerstone Housing, a not-for-profit organisation with years of experience in property management. Cornerstone will undertake all aspects of managing your property under this initiative. Homes4Good takes the stress out of being a landlord and dealing with agents and Cornerstone Housing will even give you a reduced rate for their tenancy management services. You will be notified of any maintenance needs which can be referred to Cornerstone’s trade contacts.
